No this post isn't about the street pavement.  My pet chicken died today due to the cold and her age. Her name was Asphalt because she was black.  She was a good chicken and laid really large nice brown eggs when she was younger. She has been retired for a few years but she was still my pet. We got her along with two other baby chicks a long time ago. The reason we got her was that she was all beat up and the other chickens were picking on her. My husband felt like she wouldn't survive with the other chickens so he brought her home to us when my daugher was little. The other two chicks we got at the same time were robust and healthy but have both died in the last few years of the cold or other things. Asphalt was the weakest chick but she got to be the biggest hen and lived the longest. She was a really nice chicken. May she rest in peace after her travels across the Rainbow Bridge.  May she always have all the corn she wants and tomatoes too because she really liked tomatoes. I'll miss her.

I am so sorry to hear about Asphalt. At least she had lots of time of happiness with you! Most chickens don't have that. I am sure she knew she was loved.

Thank you. A lot of people would think I was silly to care about a chicken but you, my friend, understand the love of animals.

Yes I do. We had a turkey when I was little named Turk-Turk who decided to go live with the wild turkeys. We also had a duck called quackers and geese (mama named waddles, daddy named buttbutt, and the baby was asshole cause it was one). I never think it is wrong to love an animal be it small, slimy, or big.

See I knew we had that in common.
